Karen D. DeCuir-DiNicola graduated with honors from U of M with a degree in English and Psychology and a Master’s Degree from University of Detroit Mercy in Clinical Psychology. As a two-time cancer survivor, Karen is familiar with the challenges involved in waiting and has written a book about improving the patient waiting experience, It’s About Time – Easing Patient Suffering Through Intentionally Designed Waiting Experiences. After a 27-year corporate career as an executive at a Fortune 100 company responsible for Organization Development, Diversity and Training, she founded WaitWell, LLC, a company committed to forever transform the experience of waiting in and outside of the health care environment. She has also developed and delivered hundreds of leadership training courses to thousands of students on the topics of Leadership Effectiveness, Diversity & Inclusion, Conflict Resolution, Meeting Effectiveness, Team Building, Supervision, Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Career Transitions, DiSC, Communication Skills, Project Management, Influence without Authority, Body Language, Customer Service, Generations at Work and Emotional Intelligence.
